Handwriting

Nelson Handwriting is a whole-school programme designed to help all children develop a confident, legible and personal handwriting style and meet higher curriculum expectations.

We use Nelson Handwriting to teach children how to prepare themselves for handwriting, which includes posture, position and preparation. Children develop fine motor control by forming and following patterns, learn how to form letters correctly and then work through different letter joins or words to develop a cursive style that is consistent in size.
